About the GCW

The purpose of the Greensboro Community Watch (GCW) is to bridge the communication gaps between the various community watches around the City of Greensboro.

When is the last time your community watch consistently received information from other watches in various parts of Greensboro?  If you are like most people, your answer was probably, “It’s been a while” or “Never” and that is what we are setting out to change.

Crime tends to travel in waves and if we can get ahead of those waves by establishing trends then Greensboro will be an even safer place for us to call home.  By joining the GCW you will stay up-to-date with what is taking place around the city, which will enable you to alert members of your community watch with information that could potentially help them not fall victim to crime.

The GCW was created by Ryan Shell, who currently heads the Southside Community Watch in downtown Greensboro.  “I’ve seen first hand how beneficial community watches can be, but I also know that there is a real opportunity to connect the dots between the various community watches in the city, which will only benefit the community as a whole,” said Shell.

The best part about the GCW is there is very little effort needed on your part!  Click here to sign up!
